SVG Air Grenada is excited to announce that the Grenada Airports Authority have officially confirmed that commercial flights can be resumed at Lauriston Airport.

Mr. Dexter Lendore, Station Manager of SVG Air Grenada stated that flights into Carriacou will resume immediately – “Although all systems are not fully operational, manual operations will be in place until further notice. Currently, fixed lines are unavailable in Carriacou, so the office can only be reached via mobile at 1 473 456 8519 or by email at svgair.ccou@gmail.com. Efforts are underway to install Starlink, which will provide Wi-Fi capabilities soon.”

The Twin Otter aircraft, which has 19 seats, will depart on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Due to the impact of Hurricane Beryl throughout the Grenadines, the schedule might change as the status at the various airports in the Grenadines continues to be adjusted repeatedly and unexpectedly. Changes to the schedule that are beyond the control of SVG Air Grenada might have to be made. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we work diligently to restore our full operation at Lauriston Airport alongside the Grenada Airports Authority.

The Grenada Airports Authority has expressed that they remain committed to ensuring the readiness of all critical personnel, facilities, and services for safe, secure, and efficient operations and that restoration and upgrading works will continue until all services are effectively restored

Security personnel and systems are in place for access control and passenger/baggage screening services.

Terminal Building:

The roof restoration work continues on the terminal building; however, passenger processing services are already in place.
Power is currently provided by a generator. The local service provider will be connecting direct power by Thursday, August 8th, 2024.

Border Protection Agencies:

Immigration services have been notified and are prepared to provide services.
Customs services have been notified and are ready to provide services.

If you arrive on Grenada by plane you will have to take a Taxi or Bus from the Airport to the Carenage.

Taxis, mini buses and twin cab vans provide regular and efficient service.
Jeep rentals are also available.

Bus station in Hillsborough.

In the center of Main Street in Hillsborough is a stand where all minibus taxi’s depart.
The bus stop is at a few steps from the pier where the Osprey ferry arrives.
Departing from the dock you will find the bus stop on your left.

Minibuses on Carriacou.

The best way to get around the island in an economical way is using the public transport.
These are small vans with about 10 seats.

Usually you get a ride by standing by the side of the road and waving to stop the bus driver.
Rides are cheap.

Beware, minibuses usually do not run in the evenings.
if you go out for a dinner or a drink at a distance then you should arrange transport back prior to leaving.

Car hire and mopeds for rent on Carriacou.

There are several companies which rent out Jeeps and small motorbikes.
The rates are usually fair, vehicles vary in condition.
All hotels and guesthouses can arrange for a car hire.
This is a good option if you want to dispose of transport from the moment of your arrival.
