This wonderful piece of history and local island culture was a school until 1958 when Linton Rigg, who founded Carriacou’s Annual Regatta Festival among other things.
He renovated it into his home, the villa tranquility, where he lived until his death on 21 February 1976.

There is also “Durrant” the house’s young handyman who will be your local contact to get the fisherman to drop off their catch of fresh fish, lambi and lobster.

Colourful trees and shrubs everywhere.

As you enter the gate, you’ll notice the assortment of colourful trees and shrubs everywhere: Frangipani, Flamboyant, Banana, Bougainvillea, a very rare Sand Box Tree, Palms, Crotons, Oleander, Citrus.

First you’ll come to the 30′ Deck that wraps around the house.
There are eight 32″ white pillars that are duplicates of the originals which now are located on the edge of the property.
On a clear day you can see as far as St. Vincent.

The Southern Grenadines are so close that you can see why a seafarer like Linton Rigg chose this spot to spend his final years.

Linton Rigg’s craftsmanship.

From the porch of Villa Tranquility you enter the Great Room.
Most of the furniture and furnishings are of mahogany and remain as an example of Linton Rigg’s craftsmanship.

The bookshelf is full of his favourites as well as other memorabilia.
There is a large dining table under the vaulted ceiling as well as a day bed for leisurely relaxing.
