Point Cistern is a very convenient located site for an easy dive.

Many seafans and fish of all sorts make this an interesting dive, for beginners as well as for advanced divers.

This divesite is close to the shore of L’Esterre Bay.


Nice spot for divers without a lot of experience.

Point cistern is ideal for beginners at scuba diving.
The lack of current and shallow reefs make it a very relaxing divesite.

Once you submerge in the crystal clear waters, the scenery inmediately shows an very healthy reef.

Occasional turtles passing by, seafans wave hello to you.

For those who are not divers there are good options for snorkeling a bit closer to the coast.
There is not a lot of current as long as you stay close to Point Cistern itself.

Underwater life on the reefs.

This makes a good dive for all levels of diver, and provides the opportunity for some good photos.

The underwater landscape starts with a reef slope, where you should see morays, nurse sharks, nudibranchs and sea goddess.

As in the Mabouya Whirlpool dive site you might see bubbling gasses arising from the sea bed.

These bubbles appearing from the sea bottom signal the volcanic activity in this region of the Caribbean.

Around Mabouya are many great places to dive, this is just of them.

Other diving spots are the twin wrecks Westsider and Boris.
Those wrecks are above the top of Mabouya at the western side.

Mabouya’s eastside is a very calm spot for beginning divers.

World of dreams dive spot.

World of Dreams is one of the dive sites on Mabouya Island, in L’Esterre Bay.

It is a gently sloping reef with a maximum depth of about 22 metres.

Sometimes there can be a slight current.
Nevertheless, this dive site is still suitable for both beginners and experienced divers.


Dive Site: World of Dreams.

  • Location: Mabouya Island, Carriacou.
  • Description: Reef.
  • Depth: 8 – 22 metres (23 – 72 feet).
  • Visibility: 30 metres (100 feet).

There is an abundance of hard coral, as well as some giant soft corals.

Other life includes stingrays, angelfish, porcupinefish and the occasional turtle.

Dropping on to a table of reef and rocks at 6m (18ft), this site has big sand patches broken up with crops of hard and soft corals.

Crabs, sand divers and flounders can be found here.

The dive then takes you past groups of garden eels and descends down a coral wall where large schools of fish gather.

Maximum depth is 20m (66ft).

This dive spot is located in front of Hillsborough.

It is an easy diving location.
Good practicing area for the less advanced scuba divers amongst us.

Drop in without a mooring to a reef garden at 8m (25ft).
Lots to see as you move back towards and around Jack-A-Dan island.

The dive takes you over the ridge of a coral finger, to a maximum depth of 16m (50ft).

On this dive you are likely to encounter myriads of schooling fish.
There are moray eels and stingrays, as well as the odd nurse shark too.

There are many lionfish at Jack a Dan, and the dive operators frequently go out in order to deminish their numbers.

Easily described as a calm bay with a sandy bottom.
The Anse la Roche reef is surrounded by parrotfish, spotted drums and spiny lobster.

Hard corals and sponges in vast amounts at triggerfish alley.

Sometimes you can even see large rays relaxing on the bottom.

There are two main dive sites at Anse La Roche.

  • Triggerfish Alley.
  • Arc Du Vero.

Visibility is good.
Depth varies between 5 and 15 meters,.

Within the Anse La Roche region, you will find Arc Du Vero and Triggerfish Alley.
Both easy and relaxing dives.
Anse La Roche is highly recommended for snorkelers and beginner divers.

Located at the picturesque Anse la Roche Bay, this reef dive begins in a lovely coral garden.

The site is dotted with boulders and clumps of coral, creating the perfect hideout for octopuses, crabs and small morays.

Triggerfish Alley.

This is a gentle shallow reef dive, which starts in a coral garden at 5m (16ft) from which we make our way down the reef to a maximum of 12m (40ft).

The site is dotted with boulders and clumps of coral which hide octopus, small morays and crabs.
